Climate Wars

As a Canadian-focused blog, we might promote Gwynne Dyer’s book Climate Wars just because he’s an important Canadian writer (even if based in the U.K. these days). But his book is important way beyond reasons of patriotic pandering.

And CBC Radio’s Ideas is running a must-listen 3 part series built on the book. There are podcasts available but they don’t keep them active for long.

Far too little attention is being given to the looming breakdown of governments and breakout of conflicts that global warming will cause. Al Gore and others frequently include “messages” that climate change is a serious threat to human civilization. But very few people are taking the threat seriously. War planners at the Pentagon and other world powers are an exception and Gwynne Dyer makes their concerns and scenario planning accessible for those of us without advanced degrees in geopolitics or war planning.
